April/May Favorites

April flew by, I didn't post a favorites list because I was still using most of my favorites from March. Towards the end of April and now into May I have some new items I am loving

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua
I originally only bought this product because of all the hype, I started using it and really like it, thankfully. It's a little thicker than I thought it would be and gives more coverage. But it's still light enough that it replaced my favorite LMDB foundation for summer. It's okay LMDB, I still love you.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Daily Sunblock
Everyone knows you can't leave the house without SPF, this is my favorite of all time. It's ultra sheer and wears perfectly under makeup. Plus- it's SPF 55.

NARS Illuminator Copacabana
I had the Copacabana Multiple at one time but tossed it, I really hated the color and look it gave me. I mean, I hated the multiple with a passion. However the Illuminator is bomb dot com. I love this product and use it all the time, I'm so glad I tried it. It gives the perfect glow and is easy to use.

Cover FX Skinprep FX Nourishing Foundation Primer & Anti-Aging Serum
I have been meaning to review this product for awhile. I have been using it for about 2 months. I love this primer and will be posting a proper review on this product soon.

Lanolips LE Lemonade Lip Aid
My favorite lip ointment. I carry it with me all the time.

Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush in #6
It's funny how amazing a simple blush can be. This blush is a muted pink/rose color with a brownish undertone. It's simple yet looks great with any look.

Le Metier De Beaute Eye Shadow in Jojo
This color looks great by itself or blended with a darker color. LMDB shadows are amazing. I need more of them.

Paul & Joe Pearl Powder in #01 Secret of Gold
In the jar the color is pretty, but this loose shadow looks better over a colorful base. I pack mine over MUFE Aqua Cream in Coral or Peach and over MAC Paint Pot Rubenesque.

Giorgio Armani Micro-Fil Loose Powder
This powder has been a favorite of mine since I bought it. I love how finely milled the powder is, it gives a sheer coverage, no cakey-ness here.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Biarritz
Biarritz is a pretty golden peach color with shimmer. I have been wearing this color a lot during the day.

I'm loving liners that are not black, colorful eyeliners are fun and can turn any neutral look into something fun. I have been using these eyeliners the most.

MAC Eye Kohl in Float On By and Rosemary & Thyme
Dolce & Gabbana Crayon Intense Eyeliner in #8 Blue, and #2 Coffee
Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in No.83 Cassie

Fresh Milk Body Lotion
I have been a strict Kiehls girl when it comes to body lotion but I bought this a while ago during the Sephora F&F sale. I love the way this smells and feels, I have pushed my Kiehls to the back of my dresser. Sorry Kiehls, you're great but Fresh smells better.

What products are you love this month?

JoJo is amazing isn't she?! I'm really pleased with the Vitalumiere Aqua as well. It's a bit too dark but I love it anyway!!

I've been trying to find reviews on the Chanel foundation, thanks for this! I was wondering if it was a good pick for summer, but still wanted good coverage... And I'm a sucker for body lotions + creams that have 'milk' in them haha!

@PerilouslyPale, JoJo is truely great. I had a hard time find a match for my skin even though I'm an easy NC25, the B20 was too like and the B30 was too dark. I figured since I get a little darker during summer I might as well stick with the B30.

@lovevictoriaa, the Vitalumiere Aqua is not a full coverage foundation for sure, but its more coverage than say a tinted moisturizer. I'm a sucker for 'milk' products too! LOL that's why I bought the lotion at the time. I even bought the matching 'Milk' soap bar.

Hey Diane! Loved reading about your favorites. I have been curious about the ultra sheer sunblock, does it have any white cast effect on the face? I used to use the older Neutrogena sunblock which gave me a lot of flashback in photos.
I have been loving the Chantecaille Capri bronzer, D&G lipsticks (Velvet, Emotion, Sparkling and Violet to name a few!) I just got the new MUFE Uplight in #11 dewy pink beige which is really pretty and subtle especially for no foundation summer days. MUFE also has 2 new star powders(loose shadows) part of a Nude collection, I got one called Pink Bronze it's a beautiful rose gold color.
I really like your idea of using the P&J pearl powder over a colored base, I don't have that one but I could try it with other champagne colors.. Thanks!
PS: I'll send you an update on the P&J glosses tomorrow, sorry for the wait!

@Kasia, You should get them! Loving both products

@Lakshmi, The Neutrogena sunblock doesn't leave any white cast that I noticed but since I wear it under my foundation maybe I don't see it. My friend is loving, and I mean LOVING the Kiehls Ultra Sheer Sunblock, and she is SUPER SUPER picky, so I kinda want to try it now. LOL

I just bought the Chantecaille Capri Bronzer because of you! I ordered it online so I'm waiting for it to arrive, I think it might be at my house when I get home today. I'm excited! Now I want to order the St. Barths Bronzer too because The Best Things In Beauty. I have always wanted to try MUFE loose shadows but the colors always seemed a bit dramatic, maybe I will try the Pink Bronze you suggested or the Taupe, lol or both!

Yay! I hope you love it! I just can't seem to get enough of Chantecaille these days! and D&G too..
You should try their lipsticks in Velvet and Emotion, one is peachy pink/coral and the other is a soft pink, interestingly I can never wear such light colors in MAC lipsticks but something about the D&G lippies is more flattering, and I dig the old school rose scent too!
Oh and along with the MUFE Pink bronze star powder I also picked up one in purple, it is so pretty, I was mesmerized. I was always wary of MUFE too because the colors seemed too out there but since the Aqua creams I've come to appreciate the brand more.

Just came across your blog via twitter! I have alot of the same favorites! I'm loving the Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua and the Armani micro fil powder is the best I have ever used! Really want to try the Fresh lotion! Have you tried the new YSL waterproof liners??? They are incredible!

I'm newly smitten with Jojo- she's gorgeous and great all on her own! I LOVE that sunscreen too- I have it in both spf 55 and spf 70. The Chanel VA is a great product I almost emptied my first one. Those DG liners are sure pretty! Thanks for the lemming!

I want to try out Copacabana especially since it is bomb.com hehe - I love that phrase. I featured a Chanel illuminator in my May favorites, but have never tried the NARS ones. I'm really curious to see if I like it. I have a sample of the NARS orgasm, but still need to try it out. BTW Jojo is a great eye shadow too!

I love Jojo. I was surprised because I was after Corinthian like a crazy person. Now that I have both, I find that I reach for Jojo far, far more!

Been meaning to try out D&G products, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I want to soon though! I love the look of that liner in Coffee. :)

so far i never attempt to use sunscreen all due to my laziness, since most product contains SPF... heard a few ppls raving about this sunscreen, think i should get my butt up and get one!

I'm loving my cocoshine lipstick too.

You are using the chanel liner in cassie? what shade of eye makeup do you matches it with?

Diane said...

@productdoctor, thanks for finding me! I have not tried the YSL waterproof liners yet, I need to check them out soon.

@makeup merriment, ahhh they have a SPF70 in the Ultra Sheer? I have to find it!

@Hopelessly Devoted To Makeup, I bought the NARS Orgasm one as well but for some reason I have not got around to testing it out yet. Let me know if you like it. JoJo is the best color! Going to check your May favorites right now to see the Chanel Illuminator.

@Lilladylife, Yeah I don't know if it was just me but I HATED the multiple. The illuminator is easy to use and you can wear it in all sorts of ways. I bought the Lanolips from:

They ship internationally and have 10% for new customers. Love their website!

@reene, I feel the same way- I finally got Corinthian but always grab for Jojo, hahah can't believe we were after Corinthian like a crazy person. I like D&G liners they are so pretty, coffee is great!

@Red lips, Black Hair, Thank you!

@sizbelle, Yes Karen you need SPF in your life! Usually when I wear Cassie it's with a neutral eye just to add a pop of color, like with brown, beige, or taupe eye shadows.

i wish LMDB is sold here :D am slowly getting into armani stuff after reading your thoughts on the loose powder and the ETKs i got. I tried their blush in #10 and it looks amazing, i'm surprised at how 'minimalist' the packaging + color itself is.

I've only tried dollywink pencil liner (in brown), it's my HG if i want a matte brown liner, but i'm not sure about the black pencil one! FYI: UD zero smudged on me :(
